The Relevance in Our World

Is it a crime to be whoever you want to be or for that matter for being born a certain way?  Our world today is very negative and harsh.  People everywhere around the world discriminate against others based upon their sexual preference.  About seventy-five countries criminalize same sex relations and their punishments can be anywhere from a fine to spending many years behind bars.  In chapter two of Naimark’s Fire of Hatred he tells us that through negative impact Hitler singled out all Jewish people.  When talking about the Holocaust we know what the term genocide and ethnic cleansing stands for.  Ethnic cleansing is the process of eliminating unwanted ethnic or religious groups by deportation, forcible movement, and mass murder or by making threats of some sort.  Hitler believed that Jewish people existence posed a threat to the European nation.  To him Jewish people were like a disease carrying lice that would infect the body of the German society.  Naimark tells us that Hitler believed that the Jews lived as parasites off of healthy nations.  They wanted to keep the Jews away from and centers of powers.  This meant that they even meant killing them if they had which would be genocide.  Why must our world be like that?  People look at lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people as if they are in some way like a disease carrying lice as well and they don’t seem to even want them in our society.
There was a fire at a gay bar in Oak Park and the police believed for it to be arson involved, it was hatred toward people who have done nothing wrong.  Hitler wanted to force the Jews out of German territory whomever started that fire in that night club obviously wanted the club gone and there was even derogatory messages were even scrawled inside the night club walls. It was something like physical destruction on the enemy.  There was a full blown Nazi attack on the Jews.  For that matter even in other countries they discriminate against gays for them being gay.  It is like it is a sin of some sort.  For example countries like Jamaica being gay lead you up to ten years in prison.  In Tanzania you can have life imprisonment for doing homosexual acts.  These all have one thing in common which is that they can lock you up for being gay, which is wrong.  It is discrimination.  Hitler disliked people just because of their race.  Other countries are discriminating against people just because of who they chose to love and date.  Our government and society needs to wake up and realize that this world is not only black and white.  We should be fair and equal to everyone no matter what this life may bring.
